Flight Training Costs



Club member Flight training:

Dual and solo flight instruction in club gyroplane:

€130 Per Flight Hour

(Includes Pre and Post-flight Briefings)


Supervised solo training in your own single seat gyroplane:

60 per hour


Contact the club  for information on using your own Two Seat gyroplane for training or Single Seat transitioning on your own gyroplane.


 One-to-one Groundschool / Extended Briefings:    €40 per hour


Other Costs:

All students must be full members of The Irish Sport Rotorcraft Club, this costs €80 per year. This membership becomes payable after after 28 days or your second flight lesson with us, whichever is sooner. The IAA requires that you must be a club member to receive instruction at the club.


Written exams cost €35 per paper, and you need to sit and pass 4 of them before you apply for your PPL(G) flight test. These written exams are administered by the Irish Aviation Authority. Dates for the Written Tests are available HERE


Students require a to have a valid JAR Class 2 Medical before Solo Flight. Click here for the basic Medical requirements for the issue of the JAR Class 2 Medical. Click here for a list of Aeronautical Medical Examiners in Ireland.


Students must hold an IAA Student Pilots Licence before solo. The cost is €75. The SPL application form can be downloaded from here

Before the student solos, there is also a cost to the student of €350  to offset the cost of the Student Solo Insurance on the club aircraft

Our primary goal is Common-Sense Flight Safety with NIL accidents or incidents in our club.
